The commemoration of the Lord’s Entrance into Jerusalem
Masíh Khudáwand ká Bait al-Muqaddas men dakhil
honá

Dáúd ke Beṭe kí ho saná Hosha‘ná ká na‘ra gúnje sadá
Allah ke nám se jo áe Rab kí taraf se wuh barkat páe
Har dam ho Rája kí ham se saná Hosha‘ná ká na‘ra gúnje sadá
After this, the Priest and people sign themselves,
while the Priest says:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Báp aur Beṭe aur Rúhu’l Quds ke nám men
Then he greets the people in the usual way. A brief
address is given, in which the faithful are invited to participate actively and
consciously in the celebration of this day, in these or similar words:
‘Azizo - ham pánch hafton
tak Masíhí muhabbat ke izhár aur khudnisárí ke a‘mál se Páshká
ke bhedon ko manáne kí taiyárí karte rahe hain. Aj yahán
ekaṭhe ho kar dunyá bhar ke tamám Masíhon ke sáth ham yih Pák
‘ibádat shurú karte hain. Masíh Khudáwand jashn ke sáth apne
shahr Bait al-Muqaddas men dákhil hotá hai, táki dukh uṭhá
kar, mar kar aur jí uṭh kar hamárí naját ká kám púrá kar de. Cháhiye
ki ham ‘aqídat ke sáth is wáq‘ia ko yád karen, aur zinda ímán se
apne Khudáwand ke hamrah chalen. Salíbí dukhon men
us ká sáth de kar ham us ke jí uṭhne aur us kí nayí zindagí men
bhí sharík honge.
After the address, the Priest says one of the
following prayers with hands extended.
Ham du‘á karen
Ai Qádir-i-mutlaq Khudá,
in ṭaihníyon ko barkat de
aur in ko pák kar.
Áj ham khushí ke sáth iqrár
karte hain
ki Masíh Khudáwand hamárá
naját dahinda aur Bádsháh hai.
Bakhsh de ki ham wafádári
ke sáth us kí pairawí karen,
aur ek din naye aur abdí Bait
al-Muqaddas kí khushíyan hásil karen.

apne logon ke ímán ko
baṛhá
aur hamárí du‘áen qabúl

har waqt terí hí ta‘zím karte rahen,
aur apní zindagíyan usí

He sprinkles the branches with holy water without
saying anything.
Then a Deacon or, if
there is no Deacon, a Priest, proclaims in the usual way the Gospel concerning
the Lord’s entrance according to one of the four Gospels. If appropriate,
incense may be used.

Us waqt Yisú‘ Yarúshalem kí ráh le kar áge áge chalá. Aur
aisá húá, ki jab us paháṛ par jo zaitún kahlátá hai Baitfage aur Bait‘aniyyáh
ke nazdík pahunchá, to apne shágirdon men se do ko yih
kah kar bhejá ki, sámne ke gánw men jáo, aur us men
dákhil hote hí ek gadhí ká bachcha bandhá húá páoge, jis par
kabhí koí ádmí sawár nahín húá: use khol kar láo. Aur agar koí
tum se púchhe ki kyún kholte ho? To us se yún kahná ki Khudáwand
ko darkár hai. Bheje húon ne já kar, jaisá us ne un se kahá thá,
waisá hí páyá. Aur jab gadhí ká bachcha khole lage to us ke maĺikon
ne un se kahá; ki is bachche ko kyún kholte ho? Unhon ne kahá
ki Khudáwand ko darkár hai.
Aur wuh use Yisú‘ ke pás láe aur apne kapṛe us bachche par
ḍál kar Yisú‘ ko sawár kiyá. Jab já rahá thá, to wuh apne kapṛe ráh men bichháte játe the. Aur jab
wuh koh-i Zaitún ke utár par pahunchá, to shágirdon kí
sárí jamá‘at un sab mu‘jizon ke sabab se jo unhon ne dekhe
the khush ho kar buland áwáz se yún kahte húe Khudá
kí tamjíd karne lagí ki
Mubárak hai wuh Bádsháh,
Jo Khudáwand ke nám se átá hai
Ásmán par salámatí
‘álam i bálá par jalál
Aur us hujúm men se ba‘z Farísíon ne us se kahá,
ki ai ustád, apne shágirdon ko jhiṛak. Aur us ne jawáb men
kahá; Main tum se kahtá hún, ki agar yih chup bhí rahen,
to patthar chillá uṭhenge.

After the Gospel, a brief homily may be given. Then,
to begin the Procession, an invitation may be given by a Priest or a Deacon or
a lay minister, in these or similar words:
Áen! Jis tarah logon ká púrá
gúroh, Masíh Yisú‘ ke hamráh shahr kí taraf gayá. Ham bhí usí tarah us
kí tamjíd karte húe salámatí se jáen.

J- Masíh ko mubárak kahen
The Procession to the church where Mass will be
celebrated then sets off in the usual way. If incense is used, the thurifer
goes first, carrying a thurible with burning incense, then an acolyte or
another minister, carrying a cross decorated with palm branches according to
local custom, between two ministers with lighted candles. Then follow the
Deacon carrying the Book of the Gospels, the Priest with the ministers, and,
after them, all the faithful carrying branches.
As the Procession moves forward, the following or
other suitable chants in honour of Christ the King are sung by the choir and
people.
